Our History
Since the founding of the very first Soroptimist club in Oakland, California in 1921, Soroptimist International (SI) has sought to bring about change to the lives of women and girls worldwide. December 10th Appeal
Every SI president proposes a “President's Appeal”: a project to which Soroptimists worldwide contribute during the SI president's two-year tenure. SI President-elect Maureen’s appeal is "Opening Doors to a Bright Future," which will cement Soroptimist’s commitment to education and its immense power and fundamental role as a driver for sustainable development, peace, and equality for women and girls around the globe.
